Overview

Kornweiss Photography respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. The short version: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell your data, and we don't use tracking cookies.

What We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. Your email is used for authentication (magic link sign-in) and notifications (when someone adds a story to your photo). We do not store passwords.

Content You Submit

When you submit photographs, stories, or identifications, that content is stored in our database and displayed on the site after curator review. Your display name is shown alongside your contributions.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-respecting analytics service that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across sites. Plausible is GDPR, CCPA, and PECR compliant. All data is aggregated — we see page view counts, not individual visitors.

What We Don't Collect

• We do not use tracking cookies
• We do not use Google Analytics or similar tracking tools
• We do not collect your IP address for analytics
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties
• We do not serve advertisements
• We do not use your data for profiling or targeted advertising

How We Use Your Information

• Email: To send you magic link sign-in emails and notifications when someone interacts with your contributions. You can disable notifications in your profile.
• Display name: Shown publicly alongside your contributions to the archive.
• Submitted content: Displayed on the site after curator review, as described in our Terms of Service.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (database and authentication) and Cloudflare R2 (image storage). Both services use encryption at rest and in transit. Access to the database is protected by row-level security policies.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data — email us and we'll provide a copy of everything we have.
• Correct any inaccurate information in your profile.
• Delete your account and all associated data. Email us and we'll process the request within 30 days.
• Remove any content you've submitted at any time.
• Opt out of email notifications by updating your profile settings.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
